Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Analyst 2 will perform a variety of professional fiscal support functions within the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME). The incumbent will be responsible for grant and contract management, from the start of the proposal process all the way through the closing out of the account; managing service center accounts, including assisting with the application and renewal process and billing customers; and providing complex office support services to the unit pertaining to personnel, travel, purchasing, property, and budgets.
The position will require the ability to exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations to resolve problems; independently advise principal investigators, staff and administrators regarding applicable policies and procedures and deadlines; and work professionally with a diverse group to ensure timely an accurate completion of tasks. All of this will be done in a fast-paced environment where multitasking and being a team player is essential to success.
Breakdown of Duties: Grant & Contracts Management (60%); Fiscal Support (25%); Front Office Support (10%); Other (5%)
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment and diverse student population; Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience managing grants and contracts.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using pivot tables, interactive charts, and advanced formulas.
Understanding of and ability to apply WSU policies and procedures as related to fiscal support activities.
Experience working with and maintaining fiscal records.
